Zone 6 AGM Postponed Indefinitely Due to CoVid
Dear Members,
It seems that Albertans will be celebrating Christmas in a rather subdued way this year. The pandemic now appears to be well into its second wave, and we are experiencing further restrictions from Alberta Health Services.
Central Lions has been advised by Alberta Health Services to halt all indoor group fitness and sports activities for two weeks effective Friday, November 13th, and will be closed to members until November 30th, with the situation to be reassessed at that time.
Your Zone 6 Executive have decided that it is in the best interest of all of us (as a vulnerable group) to postpone our Zone 6 Annual General Meeting indefinitely. We will keep abreast of the situation, and once pandemic threats have subsided, and we are allowed to interact with each other once again, we will set a new date for the AGM, and the membership will be advised.
We are saddened by this news, but support the decisions made by Alberta Health Services to limit the spread of the virus. In the meantime, we wish you all an early Merry Christmas, and very good health and happiness.
Stay Safe…Forward Together

Annual General Meeting Postponed
PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
COVID 19 UPDATE
Good morning fellow members,
As Alberta confronts and deals with the covid 19 pandemic, our biggest priority is the health and welfare of our members who are living in this “new normal”… not my favorite euphemism.
Not only is our concern for your physical well being, but we are also concerned about your emotional and social well being too. There are so many challenges that we all face on a daily basis and none of them are to be taken lightly.
On that note, we have made the difficult, but wise, decision to postpone the annual general meeting (AGM) that was planned for Monday, November 9, 2020 in Red Deer. A recent motion was passed by the board to reschedule the AGM until Monday, January 18, 2021 and that this AGM would be a virtual meeting. Of course, we will be using the appropriate and available technology to assist with running the meeting.
Please appreciate that we, as your duly elected Board, know and understand the importance of holding an annual general meeting and it’s why we are not canceling the November 9 meeting just postponing it. We want our members to know they have a voice and that their thoughts and opinions matter. It’s meetings like these where that gets to occur.
Please visit our website regularly for updates regarding the AGM and any other dates of importance.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all strive to work through this bizarre and often times, concerning pandemic.
